Non-Violent Resistance – a Sermon by the Rev. Dr. Harold Porter

IMG_2016Yesterday I got a break from preaching as we welcomed to our pulpit the Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Dr. Harold (Hal) Porter. He was instrumental in creating the open communion table policy that has been central to the ministry of our congregation, and urging Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church (USA) on to full inclusion of LGBTQ people. We were honored to have him with us for the weekend, including gathering with us socially and giving a presentation before worship on Sunday. You would think he had been listening to our Lenten sermon series on maladjustment, as he jumped right in on a similar theme and preached about non-violent resistance. Enjoy the audio below!
